Windows & Doors

  • It is best to remove all screens and replace them with storm windows and doors.

  • Make sure you properly store the screens in a dry area.

Siding

  • Check for peeling or blistering paint on your exterior walls, as that's a sign that the paint is no longer protecting the siding.

  • Loose siding shingles should be addressed as to not become a hazard during fall and winter storms.

Roofing & Gutters

  • Don't neglect to check your roof and your gutters.

  • Look for missing or loose roof shingles.

  • If your roof is not functioning properly, you are risking deterioration to your insulation, wood, and drywall.

  • This also puts your electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems at risk.

  • Make sure to clean out all of your gutters and downspouts after the leaves have fallen.

  • Broken gutter systems can lead to dangerous ice dams in the winter.
