How to Prepare for a Roofing Job at your Home
Have your home ready for the roof installation by following these simple tips.
Getting your roof replaced doesn’t require a lot of preparation time for the homeowner but there are a few things that you want to think through and have ready for your contractor for the day of installation.
Remove any delicate items away from the house.
While we take the utmost care with your landscaping and property, we appreciate if you remove planters, statues, garden animals, hoses and anything else that could potentially be damaged during the installation. We also ask that you move patio furniture away from the home.
Test your outside power outlets.
Please test your outside power outlets to be sure that they are working prior to the installation. Our nail guns and other tools require power and if outlets are not working or non-existent, we will need to make arrangements for alternate sources of power.
Let us know if anyone will be at home or will be arriving home during the installation.
If someone will be in the house during the installation, remind them to be very cautious opening doors and walking outside while the installation is taking place. We also appreciate it if you tell us if any children might be arriving home after school. We’ll be sure to have areas safe and clear for them to enter the home.
Consider sending your furry family members to the animal daycare for the day.
We love animals at Greenawalt Roofing Company and we know that our pets are part of our families. Installing a new roof involves a lot of loud noises from nail guns, footsteps on the roof, etc. Your animals may become stressed and scared at the unusual sounds. Consider asking a friend or family member to keep the pets during the day or send them to the animal spa for a day of pampering.
